The Fairmont Zanzibar is located on the Northeast coast of Ungunja, Zanzibar's main Island.  The resort is 45 minutes from Zanzibar International Airport.

The resort has benefited from the recent renovation which saw over $10 million USD in improvements.  The hotel now offers 109 newly renovated and comfortably appointed rooms and suites that are spread throughout the vast and lush tropical gardens of the resort. Fringed by the powder white 45 kilometers long sandy beach of the East coast, the resort occupies a stretch of 350 meters of pristine open beachfront.

Zanzibar is located within the beautiful waters of the Indian Ocean, 25km off the coast of Tanzania.  Numerous countries that visited over the past centuries have influenced the island and that has created a truly unique blend of cultures.  It is reflected in the architecture, cuisine and day-to-day life.

The waters surrounding the island are spectacular and diving enthusiasts have started to flock to Zanzibar.  The resort’s exceptional dive centre makes Fairmont Zanzibar the perfect home base for a diving holiday.

The exquisite resort, which is located on white sand beaches overlooking the Indian Ocean and its spectacular coral reefs, is renowned as one of the most romantic ocean destinations in the world.  The architecture of the resort offers rustic exclusivity and luxury unparalleled on the African coastline.  With 109 guest rooms ranging from Villas, Cottages and Deluxe Rooms, each en-suite room sits nestled in the shade of the tropical beach forest and palm-covered walkways.

From the moment each guest arrives they are welcomed with genuine Zanzabarian hospitality.  Guests can retreat to the privacy of their room where they will enjoy the comforts of home including air conditioning, satellite TV, coffee making facilities and hair dryers. Or perhaps they prefer to remain outdoors on their verandah with views of the grounds or tranquil blue ocean waters.
